The Polyphonic Spree bring their immersive dome theater experience of the hopeful album Salvage Enterprise to SXSW.

Resolution: A Cinephonic Rhapsody For The Soul is a groundbreaking dome theater film built around Salvage Enterprise, the hopeful and heartfelt 2023 release by Emmy-nominated symphonic rock band The Polyphonic Spree. For over two decades, the 20+ member band, led by frontman Tim DeLaughter, has been celebrated for their optimistic, choral-driven music and uplifting performances, leading to tours with David Bowie, headlining slots at festivals worldwide, and features in Oscar-winning films like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Big Short.

Now, with Resolution, they are reimagining the album experience for a world overwhelmed by distractions—offering a space where the music’s message and impact can be felt more deeply than ever before.

Created by Oscar and Emmy-winning artists, this immersive film transforms the album’s themes of resilience, hope, and renewal into a multi-sensory spectacle. Designed specifically for dome theaters, the film surrounds audiences with panoramic imagery that enhances the album’s emotional depth and draws viewers into its world. Each track features a unique story and visual treatment that reflects its tone and message, inviting audiences to step inside the music to experience it on a whole new level.

The concept for the film began with the debut of Salvage Enterprise. Before its release, Tim drove around the country hosting outdoor listening events where fans experienced the album in full, uninterrupted, under the open sky. These gatherings highlighted the power of engaging with the record as a complete work.

Resolution builds on that idea, transforming the album into a multimedia experience that amplifies its emotional impact and offers a moment of escape.

Directed by Scott Berman, who previously collaborated with Tim on visual production for his band Tripping Daisy, Resolution: A Cinephonic Rhapsody For The Soul will bring the dome theater experience to SXSW, featured as a XR Experience Spotlight. A custom-built dome will screen the film continuously throughout the day on March 9th, 10th, and 11th.

At a 43-minute run time, the film is currently showing at the Sky Theater Planetarium in Denton, TX, and will open at the new cutting-edge Omni Theater in Fort Worth, TX on March 1st 2025. Additional opportunities to experience Resolution will be announced in the future, with screenings planned throughout the US, EU, and UK.
